About This Project
This project is a rebrand of the Tex-Mex restaurant Grand Electric in Toronto. The challenge was to take an existing restaurant, and rebrand it in a historical style. I worked together with designer/classmate Ethan Lewis to give Grand Electric a new look that referenced the Dada style. For the logo design, we hand-drew the restaurant name to have a custom look and add our own chaos into the brand. The colour palette is dark with bold pops of red and blue. The typography is laid out in a way that encourages the feeling of movement but also follows structure for readability. We also created a pattern titled “Taco Storm” that reinforces the Dada style through it’s chaos.
